Contribution of contrast enhanced sonography in the etiological diagnosis of focal splenic lesions.

چکیده
Focal splenic lesions are uncommon and generally difficult to diagnose, as they do not show a specific radiological semiology and do not provide enough clinical and/or laboratory data. Thus, sometimes the association of various imaging tests, the fine-needle aspiration or even long-term follow-up monitoring of the patient is required to determine the true nature of the lesion (1). The realization of the contrast enhanced and no enhanced abdominal sonography in the same medical visit may increase the diagnostic of focal splenic lesions (2). However, while the use of contrast enhanced sonography in other abdominal organs (as kidney and liver) is fully established, the contrast enhanced sonography of the spleen is a developing technique (3). We present two clinical cases of focal splenic lesions which were diagnosed by contrast enhanced sonography.

Characterization of nontraumatic focal splenic lesions using contrast-enhanced sonography.
PURPOSE To compare contrast-enhanced sonography (CEUS) with contrast-enhanced CT in the assessment of nontraumatic focal lesions of the spleen. METHODS CEUS and CT findings in 22 patients with fever of unknown origin and ultrasound-detected splenic focal lesions were analyzed retrospectively. CEUS was performed using an ultrasound unit equipped with a 3.6-MHz probe and contrast-specific softw...
متن کاملPrecocious Diagnosis of Traumatic Splenic Rupture by Selective Coeliac Angiography
Splenic arteriography allows the organ to be clearly demonstrated and the condition of the parenchyrna to be assessed. The methode allows traumatic lesions to be easily diagnosed. The most common reliable signs are escape of contrast medium from the torn spenic arteries and lacunar appearance in the parenchyma. Other signs, such as early venous filling or antero-posterior and median displacemen...
متن کاملContrast-enhanced power doppler sonography in detection and differentiation of focal liver lesions.
The aim of the study is to evaluate the contrast enhanced power doppler technique as a method to detect and differentiate vascular patterns of focal liver lesions. Fourty-nine patients with focal liver lesions were included in the study, twenty-nine of them with malignant liver lesions (9 HCC, 20 metastatic), twenty patients with benign lesions (12 haemangiomas, 5 focal nodular hyperplasia, 3 f...
متن کاملAutomatic Prostate Cancer Segmentation Using Kinetic Analysis in Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI
Background: Dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) provides functional information on the microcirculation in tissues by analyzing the enhancement kinetics which can be used as biomarkers for prostate lesions detection and characterization. Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate spatiotemporal patterns of tumors by extracting semi-quantitative as well as w...
